Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups M&Ms (I used mini, but any flavor or size will do)
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, cream together both sugars, the shortening , eggs, and vanilla. Add the flour, baking soda, salt and cornstarch to the butter mixture and blend well. Add in 3/4 cup to 1 cup of the M&M's.
Chill dough for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Press a few more M&Ms onto the tops of the cookies, if desired.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
