Ingredients
- 3 Tbsps chicken broth
- 1 1/2 pounds (about 1 quart) brussels sprouts
- 3 Tbsps soft butter
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup toasted slivered almonds
Preparation
Step 1
Pour chicken broth over brussels sprouts in a 1-1/2 quart glass baking dish
Cover with paper towel and cook in the center of microwave oven for 4 minutes. Stir. Cook 4 minutes more. Let stand, covered, 5 minutes. Drain
Stir in the butter, lemon juice, salt and pepper; sprinkle with almonds.
To toast almonds, spread in a glass pie plate. Put in microwave and cook 2 to 3 minutes on HIGH, stirring 1 or 2 times until nuts are lightly browned.
