Ingredients
- 2 c sugar
- 1 t vanilla
- 1/2 t salt
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/4 c flour
- 4 t baking powder
- 4 t butter
- 1 c whole milk
- 1 large can pineapple slices in syrup (reserve syrup)
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cube butter
Preparation
Step 1
Combine milk and 4 t butter in saucepan - heat until simmer
Beat eggs until thick, add vanilla and sugar. Beat to combine.
Sift flour, baking powder, salt
Add dry to wet
Open can of pineapples and pour 1/4-1/2 cup of pineapple juice in batter, mix in.
Add warm milk and butter, mix fast
In pan on top of stove, add butter, brown sugar until 1/4" - 3/8" thick.
Remove from heat, add pineapples, cherries and optional walnuts into sugar.
Pour on batter.
Bake at 350 for 30-45 min. Let cool slightly before turning out onto serving plate. If sticks, place on low heat on stove to remelt the sugar and flip out.
