TURNIPS****Roasted Turnips, Shallots, and Garlic

We both liked this very much. I overdid it a bit though, and the garlic and the shallots were quite black. Watch it in the final 5 minutes.

Ingredients
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
- 1 pound baby turnips, peeled and cut into wedges
- 2 shallots, peeled and cut into wedges
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 sprig fresh thyme, table salt
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 pinch freshly grated nutmeg
- Maldon salt and freshly ground black pepper
Preparation
Step 1
* Combine all ingredients in a zip-lock bag and refrigerate until serving time, overnight if desired.
* Preheat oven to 475 degrees. Place turnips on a rimmed baking sheet, arrange in a single layer and roast until golden on both sides, 25 to just 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
