Homemade Granola (modified with no nuts)

I had to modify this recipe so that my whole family could enjoy this. We love it on everything from yogurt to pancakes to just eating it.

Ingredients

  • Combine in a saucepan and heat until melted:
  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 4 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar (I used light)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Remove from heat and add:
  • 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • In Large Bowl, combine:
  • 6 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups grape nuts
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup wheat germ
  • 3/4 cup unsalted, raw sunflower seeds

Preparation

Step 1

Pour wet ingredients over dry and mix well. Spread in large bar pan (or cookie sheet) and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, stirring every 7 minutes or so.

After granola has cooled, you can add raisins or other dried fruit.
