Chicken a la King

Ingredients

  • 6 tbs. butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp.instant chicken bouillon granules
  • 2 cups cooked chicken,cubed
  • 1 4 oz.mushroom stems & pieces,drained

Preparation

Step 1

For sauce melt butter.Stir in flour,salt and pepper.
Add milk,water,and granules.Cook and stir over medium
heat till thickened and bubbly.Cook and stir 1 to 2
minutes more Stir in chicken,mushrooms.Heat through.
Serve over toast,toasted English muffins or biscuits.


Cheesy Chicken a la King:
Prepare Chicken a la King as above,except stir
1/2 cup shredded American cheese into the thickened
sauce mixture.Cook and stir 2 minutes more.
