Funnel Cakes (Amish Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups AP Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • oil
  • powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Combine eggs, milk, and brown sugar. Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Beat dry mixture into egg mixture until smooth. Heat oil to 375F.
Cover bottom of funnel with finger. Ladle 1/2 cup batter into funnel. Remove finger to release batter while moving funnel around the top of the oil. Fry 2 min on each side. Drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar.
