Cumin-spiced Fish Tacos with Avocado-Mango Salsa

Ingredients

  • 1 Tblsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lb tilapia
  • 1 Tblsp oil
  • 1 c. sliced, peeled avocado
  • 2/3 c. finely chopped mango
  • 1/4 c. chopped scallions
  • 1/4 c. finely chopped red onions
  • 2 Tblsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 Tblsp lime juice
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper
  • 1 jalapeno, sliced
  • tortillas

Preparation

Step 1

Place cumin, 1/2 tsp salt, paprika and pepper in a spice grinder and process til finely ground. Combine cumin mixture and garlic and rub over fish. Return the skillet to medium-high heat and add oil. Add fish and cook 2 min on each side or til done. Remove and keep warm.

Combine the remaining 1/4 tsp salt, avocado and next 6 ingredients. Stir in jalapeno if desired.

Heat tortillas. Break fish into pieces and place among tortillas and top with salsa.
