Ingredients
- Sift together:
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- dash salt
- Cream:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 eggs
Preparation
Step 1
Add 1 cup buttermilk and 1 tsp. vanilla, alternating with flour. Fold in 2 cups rhubarb sliced small. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon on batter.
Bake in floured and greased oblong pan at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour; reduce heat to 325 degress and bake 20 minutes longer.
