Bison Cherry Burger

  • 1 lb grd bison
  • 1/4 c chopped parsley
  • 1/3 c chopped dried cherries
  • 1/4 c red onion, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp grainy mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Step 1

Preheat grill to medium.
Stir meat with parsley, cherries, onion, Worcestershire, mustard and salt in a medium bowl. Mix gently with your hands or with a fork - over mixing can toughen burgers. Shape into 4 -1/2" thick patties. Make a shallow depression in centre of each to help keep their shape while cooking.
Brush or spray grill with vegetable oil or cooking spray. Barbecue burgers, with lid closed, until cooked through, 4 to 5 min per side. Top with roasted plum tomatoes, pickled ginger relish or peach salsa.
