  • 2 C sugar
  • 1 C butter/margarine, softened
  • 3 1/2 C cake flour
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 1/2 t baking powder
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 c cocoa

Step 1

Grease tube pan.

Beat sugar & butter/margarine until light & fluffy. Add flour & remaining ingredients, except cocoa; at low speed, beat until blended (4 mins).

Heat oven to 350. Remove about 2 1/2 C batter and beat cocoa into it until well blended.

Pour vanilla batter into tube pan and drop spoonfuls of chocolate batter on top of vanilla batter. With large spoon cut in and twist to obtain marbled look.

Bake 1 hr or until toothpick comes out clean.
