Ingredients

  • 2

    New York strip steaks

  • 1/4

    t kosher salt

  • 2

    T cracked pepper

  • 1

    T olive oil

  • 1/3

    C chopped shallots

  • 1/2

    C beef broth

  • 2

    T balsamic vinegar

  • 1

    T butter

Directions

Pat steaks dry; sprinkle evenly with salt. Press peppercorns onto both sides of steaks. Brush with olive oil. Grill til desired doneness, @ 3 min per side. Let stand 5 min. Cut each steak in half. While steaks rest, sauté shallots in olive oil 1 min. Stir in broth & vinegar. Bring to boil; cook 2 min until reduced by half. Remove from heat; stir in butter. Serve over cut steaks.
