Ingredients
- Cake:
- 2 c Flour
- 2 C sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- pinch of salt
- 1 c butter
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 1 c water
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1/2 c buttermilk
- Icing:
- 1/2 c butter
- 4 tbsp cocoa
- 6 tbsp milk
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F and grease 13x9 pan
Cake:
Sift first 4 ingredients together in large bowl.
Mix butter, cocoa and water in saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour boiling mixture into flour mixture and mix well. Add 2 eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Mix all together. Batter will be thin. Pour into cake pan and bake for 30 mins.
Icing:
Place butter, cocoa, and milk in same saucepan and bring to a boil. Place powdered sugar in mixer and pour saucepan mixture over it. Beat with mixer until smooth. Add vanilla. Pour icing over hot cake in pan.
