How to Keep Fresh Berries Fresh
By GratefulSea
This works wonderfully well on berries, even strawberries. The vinegar makes them resist mold, so that they will last, refrigerated, for a week or even longer. Yes, I've tried it and it really works.

Preparation
Step 1
Combine 1 part vinegar with 10 parts water, and pour over the berries. Using your hand, swish the berries around in the liquid, then rinse them very thoroughly.
Another method which seems to work just as well is to combine 1part vinegar with 3 parts of water (e.g., 1 cup of vinegar with 3 cups of water). Rinse, then allow the berries to dry thoroughly on paper towels before refrigerating.
