Gingerbread Fingers with Orange Creme Filling

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. ground ginger
- 1/2 t. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/3 c. dark molasses
- 1/4 c. butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 t. vanilla extract
- 1 recipe Orange Creme Filling
- Garnish: Orange Zest
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat Oven 350 Degrees
Grease & flour 9" square pan
Mix dry ingredients together in one bowl
Mix wet ingredients together in another bowl, and with electric mixer beat until smooth
Combine wet with dry, continuing to beat and scrape down the sides several times
Pour into pan
Bake 25-30 minutes until toothpick clean
Cool in pan for 10 minutes
Cool completely on wire rack
Trim edges with serrated knife
Cut into 4" x 1 1/2" fingers
Cut each finger in half horizontally
Spread with orange creme & top with other half of gingerbread
Pipe orange creme on top for garnish and add orange zest
