Cornbread (Herbs)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups self-rising cornmeal
  • 3/4 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 425° F.

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Combine eggs, milk and butter in a separate bowl, and add to the bowl of dry ingredients, stirring until just moistened. Pour batter into a lightly greased 9-inch pan.

Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
