Bacon, Ham and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with Brown Sugar Mustard Sauce

Ingredients

  • 4 slices whole grain sandwich or sourdough bread
  • 2 Tablespoons butter, softened
  • 6 oz thin sliced ham
  • 4 oz Gouda cheese, sliced
  • 6 bacon slices, cooked
  • 2 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

To make the grilled cheese:

Spread the outsides of the bread with a ½ tablespoon of softened butter. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add ham slices to the bottom slice of bread, top with Gouda cheese and bacon. Spread approx 1 Tablespoon brown sugar mustard sauce over bacon and another bread slice. Cook the sandwich until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and toasty. Serve immediately!

Note: Feel free to add brown sugar mustard sauce after it’s been grilled, if preferred.
