Ingredients
- 1 stick Butter
- 18 oz. Evaporated Milk
- 4 cups Sugar
- 1/4 cup Vanilla Extract
- 4 cups chopped Pecans

Combine the butter, milk and sugar in a heavy saucepan. Add vanilla and cook on high heat to bring the mixture to a rolling boil. Reduce the heat to medium and continue to boil, stirring constantly. When the temperature on a candy thermometer reaches the softball stage (235F), remove form the heat. Add pecans and stir until the mixture thickens. Quickly spoon onto a sheet of lightly oiled aluminum foil. Cool. Lift the pralines from the foil using a thin blade knife. Store in an airtight container.
