squares melted chocolate (Baker's or ¾ cups Hershey's Cocoa plus 3 tbsps melted butter)
cups all purpose flour
tsp baking powder
cup broken nuts
tsp baking soda
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add egg one at a time. 3. Stop beater and add melted Baker's or Hershey's chocolate and beat again. 4. Fold sifted and measured flour, baking powder and salt and baking soda sifted all together once. 5. Fold nuts. 6. Pour on line pan 8 x 8 (2 square pans) 7. Bake on 300 degrees for 35 minutes. 8. Remove at once, invert on cookie sheet and urn again on another cookie sheet. 9. Cut into square (yields 48 pcs. or 4 dozens) 32 pcs. ADD DATES IF DESIRED: 1/3 cup dates rolled on the measured flour and always get 1 tbsp flour from the measured 2 cups and mix it into the nuts before folding.
