    Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

    teaspoon vanilla extract

    cup sugar

    Tablespoons self-rising flour

  • pinch of Kosher salt

  • TOPPINGS - frosting, Nutella, sprinkles, fruit, nuts, chocolate chips


Whisk together the melted butter and egg, then stir in milk,vanilla, and sugar. Add the flour and salt, and beat batter until smooth. Divide the batter between 2 mugs, being careful not to fill them more than half-way to avoid overflow. Microwave each mug separately, beginning at 1-1/2 minutes, then in 15-second intervals (up to 2-1/2 minutes) until the cake has risen and is springy to the touch. The top will not be golden.
