Ingredients

1/2 C butter
1/2 C shortening
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp. almond extract
2 1/4 C flour
maraschino cherries

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°. Cream together butter and shortening until creamy. Add sugar and almond extract; creaming well. Blend in flour; mix well.
Shape dough into balls using 1 level Tablespoon of dough; press a maraschino cherry into top of each ball, allowing cherry to show slightly. Bake 8-10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets.
