Heart-Healthy Oatmeal

This recipe is for a single serving of oatmeal.

Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. steel cut oats or Red River
  • a handful of fresh blueberries
  • sliced strawberries
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 8 walnut halves, chopped

Preparation

Step 1

1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil; stir in oats. Return to a boil and reduce heat to medium. Cook to desired consistancy. Remove from heat.

2. Mix fruit into oatmeal. Spoon into bowls. Top with brown sugar and walnuts.

Serve.
