Ingredients

  • 1 pkg dry yeast and 1 T sugar 1/4 C warm water
  • Mix above all together and set aside
  • 7 C sifted flour
  • 3/4 lb margarine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/2 C milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 C sour cream
  • Filling
  • 2 Lbs nuts
  • 2 C sugar
  • 6 tsp milk
  • 2 t vanilla
  • 2 T melted butter
  • Mix all ingredients together

Preparation

Step 1

Beat egg yolks and 1/2 C milk
Add yeast mixture with yolk and milk mixture
Add sour cream to measuring cup and add enough milk to make 3 cups of liquid
Work flour with butter, salt and sugar as for pie dough
Add 3 cups of liquid to flour mixture and work very well.
\Cover dough an refrigerate over night
Divide into 6 portions
Roll 1/4 inch thickness and fill
Cover with towel and let rise 45 minutes
Take 1 egg and 1 T water and mix and then brush on rolls after they raise.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes possibly 1/2 hour
