Wreath Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 C butter
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 3 1/2 - 4 C flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • buttercream icing
  • green sugar
  • red cinnamon candies (red hots)

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla and almond extract; beat well. Add flour and baking powder, gradually mixing to smooth dough. DO NOT CHILL. Force dough through cookie press in long strips. Cut into 2 1/2" lengths. Form into circles to make wreaths. Bake for 8 minutes. Ice with white buttercream icing. Sprinkle with green sugar and decorate with red cinnamon candies.
