Ingredients

  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 pound finely ground turkey, 70% white meat and 30% dark meat
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp chopped fresh thyme leaves, or 1/4 tsp dried
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper or to taste

Preparation

Step 1

Spray a small saute pan with olive oil and heat over medium-high ehat. Add the onion and cook stirring occasionally until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

Put the turkey in a medium bowl. Add the onion, Dijon mustard, Worchestershire sauce, thyme, salt and pepper and mix thoroughly. Divide the meat into six equal patties.

Using a cast iron skillet, spray olive oil and heat over medium to medium-high until hot but not smoking.

Cook the turkey burgers until browned on both sides and and instant-read thermometer reads 165 degrees F, 5 to 7 minutes per side.
