Caramel Fudge Squares

Ingredients

  • BASE:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup corn starch
  • FUDGE LAYER:
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar (demerra)
  • 2 dessert spoons corn syrup
  • 1 tin Eagle Brand milk
  • CHOCOLATE LAYER:
  • 8 squares semi-sweet chocolate

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together all base ingredients and press into to square pans or one large rectangular pan. Bake 20 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool.

Combine fudge ingredients in a pot and cook on medium. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Once cool, pour over cooled base.

Melt chocolate and pour evenly on the top of the fudge layer. Let set.
