Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup butter/margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mild molasses
  • 1/2 cup cold milk
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 4 tsp baking soda
  • 1-1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

Using large bowl, beat egg until frothy. Add melted butter, sugar, molasses and milk. Mix.

In separate bowl place next 5 ingredients. Stir well. Add to first bowl. Mix.

Add remaining flour. Stir to combine. Chill 1/2 hour. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut into 2 inch rounds. Arrange on ungreased baking sheet allowing room for expansion. Bake in 400 oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
