Caramel Pear Pie

  • Dough for 1 (9 in) Double crust Pie
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 6 pears peeled and quartered
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar



Step 1

Preheat 400.

Line 9 inch pie pan with 1 circle of dough. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of the flour over the bottom of crust.

Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.
Add sugar: cook and stir 7-8 mins or until golden brown. When its brown whisk in remaining 2 tbsp of flour until combined.
Add pears, reduce heat to low.
Cook and stir 3-5 mins or until caramel melts and coast pears.
Place pears in pie crust.
Pour remaining caramel over pears.

Weave strips of dough over top and crimp edges.

Bake 45-55 mins. cover with foil after 20 mins if browning to quickly.
