Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip

  • garlic
  • yellow onion
  • celery
  • artichoke
  • lump crab
  • scallion
  • lemon
  • cream cheese
  • mayo
  • white cheddar
  • panko
  • butter

Preparation

Step 1

1. Mince half of a yellow onion and three cloves of garlic.
2. Saute on low heat for 5 minutes. Add two stalks of finely chopped celery and saute until the onions begin to caramelize.
3. Add two cans of lump crab meat and 1/2 cup of chopped artichoke hearts. Add 1/3 cup of chopped green onion and the juice of 1/2 of a lemon. Saute for an additional 2 minutes.
4. Transfer from the pan to a mixing bowl. Add 1 package of cream cheese (softened) and 1/2 cup of mayonnaise. Stir to combine.
5. Add 1 cup of grated white cheddar cheese, sea salt, and freshly ground pepper.
6. Transfer to an oven safe dish. In a separate bowl, add 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs to 2 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir and then sprinkle on top of the crab dip.
7. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. Serve with warm crusty bread or crackers....or eat by the spoonful.
