Apple pie filling

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 c cornstarch
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 1/2 - 6 # apples, peeled, cored and sliced

Preparation

Step 1

In pot combine sugar cornstarch, cinnamon and salt with 10 c water. Cook until thick and bubbly. Pack apples in containers, leaving 1 inch at the top and then add cooled syrup, leaving ½ inch at the top. Place in freezer until needed.
