Cherries - Easy Brandied Cherries

Note: pitted cherries will not be as crisp.

Ingredients

  • Fresh cherries, pitted or not
  • sugar
  • brandy

Preparation

Step 1

Trim cherry stems to about 1/2". Wash all cherries in cold water.

Fill canning jars with cherries, leaving 1/4" of headspace below the top of the jar.

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to each pint jar, then fill with brandy to the same 1/2" headspace.

Seal and process in a boiling water batch for 10 minutes.

For best results, wait about 3 months before enjoying.
