One Pot Gnocchi With Turkey Bolognese

Ingredients
- 2 TBS olive oil
- 1 1/4 lb ground lean turkey
- 3 cloves chopped garlic
- 1 TBS dried Italian seasoning, or more to taste
- 1 TBS onion powder
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2 (17 ounce) packages gnocchi
- 1 cup water
- a handful of chopped basil
- salt and red pepper to taste
- grated Italian cheese for serving

Preparation
Step 1
In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil to medium and cook the ground turkey for a few minutes until starting to brown. Add the garlic, seasonings, onion powder, tomatoes and wine. Cover pot and simmer on low for 10 minutes while stirring occasionally. Add one cup of water (more if needed) and the gnocchi. Uncover the pot and simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes more or until gnocchi are tender but not mushy. Make sure all the gnocchi are covered with liquid while cooking. Some of the the liquid will evaporate. Stir in the chopped basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with grated cheese before serving. Makes 6 servings.
