Pickled Red Onions

  • 4 red onions thinly sliced
  • 4 c boiling water
  • 4 c mild white vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/2 t dried thyme
  • Hot chili flakes to taste



Step 1

Place opinions in a colander in the sink.
Pour boiling water over them discard the water
While opinions are hot put in a glass bowl
Add rest of ingredients
Mix well, cover chill in the fridge for a week for optimal crunch.p
