-Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 3/4 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix shortening, sugar, and eggs. Sift together the remaining ingredients and stir in. Chill dough. Roll into 1" balls or use a small scoop and slightly flatten. dip into colored sugar or colored sprinkles. Place onto ungreased baking sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
