Ingredients
- 1 can (21 oz.) apple pie filling
- 1 unbaked frozen pie crust
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 4 Tbsp. butter, divided
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups crushed pecan shortbread cookies
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450°.
Put pecan shortbread cookies in a food processor to crush. You can also put them in a large ziploc bag and crush them with a kitchen mallet. Set aside.
Pour the pie filling into the pie crust.
Sprinkled cinnamon over the pie filling. Dot with 1 tablespoon of butter.
Melt the remaining butter and combine in a small bowl with the crushed cookies. Stir well until coarse crumbs form.
Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the filling. Cover the top of the pie loosely with foil.
Bake at 450° for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°, remove the foil, and bake for 40-45 minutes. The crust should be golden brown and the filling should be bubbly.
Cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours.
Enjoy!
