Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast
- 1/2 c lukewarm water
- 1 t sugar
- 1 t salt
- 4 T butter
- 2 beaten eggs
- 5 T sugar
- 1 c milk (1/2 c evaporated milk and 1/2 c warm water)
- 4 c flour (may take slightly more or less)
- Melted butter.
Preparation
Step 1
Dissolve 1 pkg yeast and 1 t sugar in warm water.
Heat milk and butter in a saucepan until butter melts. Set aside until lukewarm.
Beat eggs, 4 T sugar, and salt and add yeast mixture.
Stir to mix well.
Add cooled milk and mix again.
Add flour to make dry dough - not sticky to the touch.
Allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness on floured board.
Cut into roll shapes using a floured drinking glass top.
Dip tops in melted butter.
Allow to rise another hour - uncovered.
Bake 10-12 minutes at 375 degrees.
