Pork chops w/sauerkraut & apples

Ingredients

  • 2 med swt potatoes, peeled & cut 2/3" thick
  • 2 med onions, chopped
  • 2 Granny Smith apples, cored & sliced
  • 1 T brown sugar
  • 1/4 t grd cinnamon
  • 1/8 t grd blk pepper
  • 1/2 c water
  • 6 (1" thick) pork chops
  • 2 c refrigerated sauerkraut, rinsed

Preparation

Step 1

Place sweet potatoes & onions in 4 qt or larger slow cooker. Cvr w apples.
In small bowl, combine brn sugar, cinnamon & pepper, and sprinkle over apples.
Add water.
Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook pork chops on medium high 2 minutes on each side to slightly brown.
Place over apples.
Spread sauerkraut over chops.
Cvr & cook 5-6 hours on low or until chops are 145 degrees
