Ingredients

  • TOPPING:
  • 8 eggs
  • 1-1/2 c half and half
  • 1/3 c maple syrup
  • 1/3 c packed brown sugar
  • 10-12 slices soft bread 1" thick
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/2 c packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 c maple syrup
  • 2 c chopped pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Butter a 9x13 baking dish.
Mix eggs, half and half, maple syrup, and sugar in a large bowl. Place the bread slices in prepared dish and cover with egg mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and let soak overnight in refrigerator.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Make the topping: Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add the sugar and maple syrup and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir in pecans. Pour the mixture over the bread and bake for 45-55 minutes. Allow to sit for 10 minutes before serving.
