Thanksgiving Rum Punch

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 8 cups apple cider (6 cups chilled)
  • 4 cups cranberry juice, chilled
  • 3 cups spiced rum
  • 2 chilled (12-oz) bottles ginger beer
  • Garnishes: Green apples, oranges, or lemons, and a rosemary sprig

Preparation

Step 1

Combine honey, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and 2 cups apple cider in a small saucepan over medium. Cook, stirring often, until honey dissolves and mixture is fragrant, about 7 minutes. Remove cider mixture from heat; cool and steep 15 minutes. Discard cloves and cinnamon sticks. Combine spiced cider mixture; cranberry juice; rum; ginger beer; and 6 additional cups chilled apple cider in a large punch bowl. Serve over ice. Garnish if desired.
