Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium,chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 1 lb. can green beans, drained
  • 1 10 1/2 oz. can condensed tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 2 tbls. Worcestershire Sauce (more or less to taste)
  • 5 medium potatoes, cooked 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 oz. process, shredded American cheese (1/2 cup)
  • OPTIONAL: Paprika and parsley to sprinkle over potatoes.

Preparation

Step 1

In large skillet, cook meat and onion until meat is lightly browned and onion is tender.

Add salt and pepper.

Add drained beans, soup and Worcestershire Sauce.

Mix all together.

Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole.

Mash potatoes while hot, add milk, egg, salt and pepper (if necessary add a little flour to thicken)

(Or try using leftover mashed potatoes from a previous meal).

Spoon potatoes in mounds around top of casserole.

Sprinkle cheese over top of potatoes. Paprika and parsley can be added for color and to inhance taste .

Bake in moderate 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.

Makes 4 - 6 servings.
