- 2 1/2 C. vinegar
- 1 C. water
- 1/4 C. salt (cut back a little)
- 1 garlic clove
- onion slice
- 1 tsp. alum - per quart
- dill

Step 1
Trim green beans to 1/4" shorter than jar. Combine brine ingredients heat to boiling. In each jar place 1 dill sprig, pack beans tightly into jars. Add 1 slice onion. Remove garlic from brine. Pour over beans.
Boiling water bath 10 minutes
Double batch - 7 pints
