SLICED BEEF WITH OYSTER SAUCE

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chopped garlic
  • 1 lb. boneless steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 3/4 cup beef stock
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in pan. Add garlic and stir briefly. Add a third of beef. Stir-fry 1 minute until it changes color. Remove and repeat with remaining slices.

Return beef to pan. Add soy sauce and sherry and cook for 1 minute. Pour in 1/2 cup stock.

Blend cornstarch with oyster sauce, remaining stock, soy sauce, sugar and salt. Stir in to thicken. Serve at once.
