Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 2 sticks butter
- 4 T cocoa
- 2 c flour
- 2 c sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 (8 oz) carton sour cream
- 1 tsp soda
Preparation
Step 1
Bring the oleo, water and cocoa to a boil. Remove from heat and add flour, sugar and salt. Mix until smooth. Then add eggs, sour cream and soda. Pour into greased sheet pan with 1/2 inch sides. Bake at 375 for 20-22 minutes.
Start frosting during the last 5 minutes baking.
Frosting: 1 stick butter
4 T cocoa
1 c milk
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
Bring butter, cocoa and milk to a boil; boil 2 minutes. Remove from heat and add the sugar and vanilla. Spread quickly on warm cake and add chopped nuts, if desired.
