Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef pot roast
- 2 Tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 Tablespoons fat
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 slices peeled lemon
- 2 medium slices onion
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 5 gingersnaps

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325. Rub flour salt and pepper on meat. Brown in fat. Blend water, vinegar, sugar, lemon and onion in blender for 5 seconds. Pour over meat. Add cloves, cinnamon and bay leaf. Cover and cook slowly, 1 3/4 hours. Add raisins and cook 1 1/2 hours more. When near serving time, blend sauce from meat and gingersnaps 10 seconds until smooth. Pour into drippings and heat briefly.
