Praline French Toast

This French toast casserole is best when prepared and refrigerated overnight.

Ingredients
- Topping:
- 8 eggs
- 1 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 8 slices of French or Italian bread, cut into 3/4 inch slices
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Preparation
Step 1
Mix eggs, milk, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and vanilla. Pour half of the egg mixture into a 9x13 inch pan.
Place bread slices in pan and pour remaining egg mixture on top.
Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt 1/4 cup butter in serving casserole. Stir in 1/2 cup brown sugar, syrup and pecans.
Carefully place soaked bread on top of the nut mixture and pour any remaining egg mixture on top.
Bake for 30-45 minutes or until puffed and brown.
