Traditional White Layer Cake

Found this recipe in Kindle Book by Sandra D. Bricker (Always the Baker, Never the Bride)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups softened butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups sifted cake flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour and salt.

Separately, mix butter and sugar. Then add eggs and mix well.

Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk.

To the butter mixture, add a portion of the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, then the rest of the flour. MIX WELL IN BETWEEN.

Pour into greased and floured pan(s).

Bake at 325 for approximately 30 minutes.
