Ingredients

  • CAKE

  • 3

    cups flour

  • 2

    cups sugar

  • 1

    tsp salt

  • 1

    tsp. baking powder

  • 1/2

    tsp baking soda

  • 1

    cups butter, room temp

  • 2

    tsp. vanilla

  • 4

    eggs

  • BUTTER SAUCE

  • 6

    tbls butter

  • 3/4

    cup sugar

  • 3

    tbls water

  • 2

    tsp. vanilla

Directions

1. Pre heat over to 325. Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. 2. Cream butter and sugar in food processor. Add rest of cake ingredients and blend until moistened. Beat an additional 2-3 minutes. Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 60-70 minutes. 3. Meanwhile, prepare sauce. In a small saucepan, combine ingredients and heat until butter melts. Do not bring mixture to a boil. 4. When cake is cooked, remove from oven and with a fork, pierce hot cake 10-12 times. Slowly pour hot butter sauce over cake. Cool in pan 30-40 minutes. Remove from pan and serve.
