Ingredients

  • 2

    sticks butter softened

  • ¾

    c light brown sugar

  • ½

    teas salt

  • 3

    c flour

  • Topping:

  • ½

    c unsalted butter

  • 2

    Tbsp granulated sugar

  • ¼

    c plus 2 Tbsp honey

  • ½

    c brown sugar

  • ¼

    teas salt

  • 2

    Tbsp heavy cream

  • ½

    teas vanilla

  • 2

    cups whole pecans

Directions

Line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper. Butter the parchment paper. In a stand mixer, cream 2 sticks softened butter, 3/4 light brown sugar, 1/2 teas salt. Add flour one cup at a time, mix until well combined. Press into the lined baking pan making as even as possible. Poke entire surface with a fork. Chill until firm then bake at 375 degrees for 20-22 min. Let cool. In a saucepan, melt the 1/2 c unsalted butter, add 2 Tbsp granulated sugar, 1/4 c plus 2 Tbsp honey, 1/2 light brown sugar, 1/4 teas salt, 2 Tbsp heavy cream cook over medium heat until well combined and carmel colored. Turn off the heat, and add the pecans and the vanilla. Pour over baked crust. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 min let cool and cut into squares
