Liz's White Peach Cobbler

By

A true oral recipe shared with me during a hurried break from work. Liz told me that this was the easiest, most delicious cobbler ( and she came from a family of southern cooks and she should know),. She said that the white peaches had a short season and could be a little pricey but were sweet and well worth it.

Ingredients

  • 8-10 large white peaches
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup self rising flour

Preparation

Step 1

Peel and dice peaches. Toss with sugar and chill 3-4 hours.

Preheat oven to 400-450 degrees.
Place butter in 9x13 oblong glass pan. Place in oven until melted. Remove.

Mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup self rising flour and 1 cup milk in a bowl.

Pour flour mixture into oblong pan with butter.
Carefully sppon peaches over flour mixture.

Bake until crust is golden brown and bubbly.
