Tangy Beef Brisket

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh beef brisket (3LBS)
  • 1 C chili sauce
  • 1 C cola
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 1 TBL cornstarch
  • 1 TBL cold water

Preparation

Step 1

cut brisket in half
place in 5-QT slow cooker

combine chili sauce, cola & soup mix
pour over brisket
cover & cook on low 6-7 hrs or until meat is tender

remove meat to serving platter
keep warm

skim fat from cooking juices
transfer to sm. saucepan
bring liquid to boil

combine cornstarch & water until smooth
gradually stir into pan
bring to boil
cook & stir for 2 min or until thickened

thinly slice meat across grain
serve w/ gravy
